Rates increased by an average of 8.7% across the region in 2010/2011 but our sample properties may be higher or lower than the average if their valuation has changed by more or less than the average for the region.

 

So rural valuations in Kaikoura have increased by more than the average while urban valuations across the region have typically decreased since last year. Also targeted rates (i.e. rates for catchment, pest or clean heat programmes) in a particular district may vary as the level of work goes up or down in response to local conditions.
