This is an application to change conditions of CRC022030 by increasing the volume of undiluted effluent from 5400 litres per day to 10800 litres per day. The expiry date will be 16/08/2012.

CRC083610  -  to discharge up to 30 cubic metres per day of treated domestic sewage effluent from the Tekapo Military Camp, except on a maximum of 50 days per year, when up to 108 cubic metres per day may be discharged.  The Tekapo Military Camp is located adjacent to State Highway 8 approximately 6 kilometres west of Lake Tekapo Township.  Effluent will be treated in a central collection tank then twin aerated lagoons prior to discharge via soakage trenches.  Treated effluent will be discharged into land 170 metres to the west of Fork Stream, at or about NZMS 260 I37:0248-8618, where it may enter groundwater and Fork Stream.  The treated effluent is expected to contain contaminants including nutrients, micro-organisms, biochemical oxygen demand and suspended solids.

The applicant has sought a discharge permit of 20 years duration

The applications relate to a proposed light industrial development to be located at 57 West Coast Rd, Yaldhurst at or about map reference NZMS 260 M35:6978-4364. The legal description for the site is Lot 3 DP58380.  A light industrial development could include but is not limited to warehousing, manufacturing, assembly, packaging, processing, fabrication, or storage and distribution activities. The site was used as a timber mill and timber treatment facility until May 2004 and these activities have resulted in some contamination of the site.

CRC090956  -  to use land for light industrial activities such as warehousing, manufacturing, assembly, packaging, processing, fabrication, or storage and distribution activity. The proposed land use includes the demolition of existing buildings, earthworks associated with land development, provision of essential infrastructure and servicing, the construction of buildings, roading and car parking.

CRC090961  -  to discharge stormwater onto and into land from a proposed light industrial development. The discharges will include sediment laden stormwater generated during construction, and stormwater from roofs, roads and hard-stand areas of the completed development. Stormwater from roofs will be discharged directly into land via sealed systems and the stormwater run-off generated from roads and hardstand areas will be treated in an infiltration basin before being discharged into land. Stormwater discharges may include contaminants such as suspended sediments, hydrocarbons, heavy metals, nutrients and micro-organisms.

CRC090962  -  to discharge treated sewage generated from a proposed light industrial development into land. The maximum volume to be discharged into land will be 7.5 cubic metres per day, which equates to a maximum daily occupancy of 150 people.  The sewage will be treated in packed bed reactor treatment systems or alternative treatment systems which provide the same or better quality treatment. The treated sewage will be discharged into land via sub-surface drip irrigation systems. The contaminants in treated sewage are known to include organic material, nitrogen, phosphorus, heavy metals and micro-organisms.

A duration of 35 years is requested for these consents.
