Environment Canterbury operates 4 business units for service activities within the organisation. These service units, Laboratory, Legal, Survey, and Buildings and Fleet, operate as independent cost centres and on a commercial platform. They provide their services to internal customers and in the case of the Laboratory to external customers at competitive commercial rates.
